Benjamin the Bookworm

Ben loves it when Abbie or Zoe reads to him ... he got a big kick out of this book last night. Brought back sweet, sweet memories of reading "Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb" to J.

HI ROO!

This baby's a-changin'

Someone forgot to give Benjamin the memo that he's supposed to stay a baby as long as possible. The little man --- with a lot of help from Abbie and Zoe --- got in some practice at sitting up on Oct. 10. He especially liked playing with his ring stacker as it gave him some extra leverage in his attempt to go vertical.

Sweet Snoozers

Ben never sleeps in the car ... unless it's the five-minute trip home from the sitter's.
Nattie fought and fought a nap yesterday ... but with a little help from Dora, crashed out in no time.

Bike

Maxwell's thanks so much for the bike helmet. We went out today and Daddy rode his bike and Geoffrey rode his. Geoffrey likes to share his helmet with his daddy. Thanks again.

Golf Clubs

Hemphill's Thanks so much for the golf clubs. Geoffrey loves them. Grandma Ruth got him a bag to carry them in. Now his is set. We took him out while the grandma's were still here. He had a great time.

Geoffrey had a great birthday. He was so glad to have his grandmas here to help him celebrate. Thanks for all the calls and gifts for his birthday. He is having so much fun with all his new toys. Here are a few pics. More will come when Ruth gets home and gets her pics on the computer. He is so blessed to have so many loving family members.

Let the good times roll.

Been really busy this week, as could probobly seen by the lack of blogs. Sunday we went paddle boating on Lake Geneva. After working on our case study religiously until Wednesday, we were ready for a good time Wednesday night-- and a good time we found at Club D in Lausanne.

Here are some pics from this week:

Paddling Lake Geneva....a good workout with great views.

Ran into my roomate Maria(we call her Mae) at the club...

Some GBU friends-- I feel like a giant around them! They are very friendly and speak great English. Our Chinese friends were amazed at Emma's dancing skills. They even commented on my skills(mainly my lack of skills). They told me I danced like Ross on Friends and said they meant it as a complement. I'm a bit skeptical, but I'm just happy they didn't compare me to Elaine on Seinfeld.

Emma and I had a great time dancing...

Happy Birthday (eve), Geoffrey Joe!

All our love to you as you celebrate the BIG 3! We are so proud to have such a sweet, funny, smart and loving boy in our lives. You have blessed the lives of your parents -- and the lives of all of our family -- in so many wonderful ways. We love you. Have a happy day tomorrow ... we will be thinking of you! The kids -- especially Nattie Ruth -- wishes she could be there to celebrate with you.

Love,
Uncle Doug, Auntie Anne, Abbie, Zoe, Nat-Nat and Benjamin

Update on Ben

Ben got a tooth this week and is growing more and more. He got a jumperoo and absolutely loves it and has really enjoyed playing with his piggies since he discovered he can touch his toes. After all that excitement, sometimes it's just best to hang out with daddy on the couch and watch K-State football highlights.

Brown-eyed boy and blue-eyed girl

Thought Benjamin and Abbie's eyes were a neat contrast.

Paint by Numbers

Thank you to Justin, Courtney and Geoffrey for the awesome wall hanging decoration ... it motivated me to get to some much overdue painting in the house. Last week I painted the entry way, hallway and kitchen and then stripped the wallpaper off the utility room and painted that up, too. The results of some of my labor (and near-manic obsession to get it all done) are shown here.
